Welcome to “Corner Cottage”our cosy 1730’s Norfolk Coastal Cottage in the peaceful village of Salthouse with sea views across the salt marshes. Salthouse is part of the North Norfolk Heritage Coast and is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. The beach with its mixture of shingle, pebbles and sand at low-tide, is a few minutes walk. Guests can choose from a variety of walks either along the coast or across the countryside, all starting from outside Corner Cottage. There is private parking for two cars on the gravelled area next to our Studio. Please do not block the neighbours access by parking on the driveway at any time.

Corner Cottage, has three bedrooms, one double, one single and one bedroom with bunk beds. The cottage can comfortably accommodate five adults plus a baby. Prices include all sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases and towels. The Cottage is available to let at various times throughout the year. Weekly bookings begin on Friday and guests should arrive from 5pm, although if you have young children, please let us know so that we can try to get you in earlier and text you as soon as the Cottage has been cleaned. Departures the following Friday should be before 11am. Weekends and mid week breaks are available outside the peak season. Weekends are for three nights starting on Friday after 6pm and leaving on Monday before 11am. Mid week breaks are for four nights starting on Monday after 5pm and finishing on Friday before 11am. Corner Cottage is on the corner between the village green and Purdy Street, about 100 yards from the edge of the marshes. The entrance is at the back of the cottage, accessed through an opening adjacent to the road sign “Purdy Street”.

There is a well-equipped ‘Shaker style’ fitted kitchen with cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. The Dining Room which is  adjacent to the kitchen has seating for 6 on wooden seats and benches. The cottage has central heating and electric underfloor tile warmers in the two ground floor reception rooms. There is also a focal point fire in the lounge. We also now have a heated drying cupboard with racks to dry coats etc overnight, particularly useful in the Winter months. Wi-fi is installed and the sitting room television has digital freeview channels and Netflix. The first floor bathroom has a shower, washbasin and WC.

This picturesque Norfolk cottage has an enclosed courtyard garden with outdoor table and chairs for sunny days. The property is adjacent to Salthouse Stores which has a wide selection of groceries plus fresh local produce and good coffee. It is just a short stroll to the Dun Cow Pub. Please be aware this is a non smoking cottage. One house trained dog may be allowed only by prior arrangement with the owner. If permitted, a charge of £25 will be added to the cost.

The owners Barry Griffin CIWEM and Carole Griffin RBA have recently updated this charming traditional flint cottage to give guests a homely place to stay. Carole is a Professional Artist and elected member of the Royal Society of British Artists, exhibiting annually at the Mall Galleries London and locally at Adrian Hill Fine Art adrianhillfineart.com in Holt.
